Getting Started with Google My Business
Google My Business is a free account that allows you to register your business online. Your business listing will show up under Google Search and Google Map results when potential customers search for related products and services. GMB is a must-have when it comes to great Local SEO.
Consider downloading the Google My Business app to access your account on your phone when you’re on the go and away from your computer or laptop. If you don’t have a Google My Business account, you can make one now using either a free Gmail account or your Google business account. Once you have access you can get reviews, respond to reviews, and learn how to remove bad reviews from Google.
For starters, you want to know what Google My Business is before you decide to invest your time into trying it. As the name implies, Google My Business allows you to create a listing for your business on Google.
When a consumer researches your business on Google — or even searches for terms related to your business — you want to ensure they have all the information they need to visit, make a purchase, or contact your company.
Flag Bad Reviews from Your Google My Business Account
You want to start by logging into your Google My Business Account. This is a free account known as GMB that lets you setup and rank your business listing on Google.
If you get a bad review on Google you will want to log into your account and flag it. Start by logging in and navigating to reviews. Find the bad or 1-star Google Review and to the right-click “Flag this review”. Google will allow you to choose a reason for flagging it. So choose a reason that is most appropriate. If it asks for any details then write a reason why and submit the flagging.
Once you have flagged the bad Google review from your account you will then want to flag it from other external accounts. You can do this by using other Google accounts you own or manage.
You can also ask friends and colleagues to flag the review. They can do this by finding and navigating to the bad review on Google from your GMB listing. To the right of the review, they can choose to flag it and mention to Google the same reason you flagged it.
Having multiple accounts flag the same bad review on Google using the same reason will show Google enough of a reason to remove the review. They will let you know within a few days if they can remove the review or not.
